April 22, 2008sunset at aninuan beach, puerto galera Posted at 05:46 PM in my search for a beach vacation that would cost less than an arm and a leg (as what most laiya resorts are worth during the summer), i trained my eyes on puerto galera and wondered if there was any place there that would have less than the 10 people per square meter density of white beach. upon the recommendation of a friend i found sunset at aninuan beach. location-wise it is great. it is right around the cove from white beach (where cheaper food, henna tattoos, and shopping is to be found) but is only one of two resorts on its own beach strip. the comandos boat that also lands on white beach and talipanan will get you here for P250 per person per way. while walking from the boat, we passed the other resort called tamaraw beach resort. we noticed it looked pretty good, but when we got to sunset we figured, "this place looks better." the rooms i know that they have are for 2 people at P2,500, for 4 at P3,000 without aircon or P4,800 with aircon. the rooms are well-maintained and you can hear the sound of the surf (instead of loud reggae music) which is a huge plus for me. the food was on the pricey side at around P250-P300 per head without drinks, but it was one of the better kitchens i've tried going around beaches. i strongly recommend though going to the pizza place next door called tutti frutti where a good 12-inch pizza goes for around P300. the ambiance of sunset at aninuan beach was good - they had cushioned beach chairs and lounging chairs where you could just sit and read and take in the sun and the view. and, of course, a killer view of the sunset. |
