when only poetry will do

came from a reading of the poetry of Conchitina Cruz. here is a part of her poem called "Disappear"

If I keep still enough inside this shadow, it is as if I am not here. If I keep still enough, there is no proof you are not here with me.


At that moment it sank in me, the thought that there are moments i will never be able to capture, thoughts that will slink away unsaid simply because i did not have the capacity to find the words to make them be.

It takes a poet to make that thought sit still long enough to be rendered with such great precision. Unfortunately, a poet i'm not. And i won't ever have the skill to write

I would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
and that necessary 

though i suppose i will have enough temerity to think it... in some form or another.
